BIGBANG return to stadiums after nine years. Such comebacks usually grew.
The K-pop trio confirmed a 20th-anniversary world stadium tour on 11 June, their first since 2017. The 31 shows begin on 21 August at Goyang Stadium.
What happened
BIGBANG confirm the 20/26 World Tour: 31 stadium shows from in Goyang, their first tour since 2017.
The K-pop group’s tour opens at Goyang Stadium in South Korea and runs to . It marks the group’s 20th anniversary. It is also the first tour by the three members in the group now, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung.
The shows cover Asia, North America, Europe and Australia. Stops include Oakland, East Rutherford, Paris, London, Sydney, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Osaka, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Kaohsiung. The group first hinted at the reunion on stage at the Coachella festival in April.
The open question is size. BIGBANG’s earlier tours played indoor arenas. This one books stadiums on four continents. Older acts coming back have set records in recent years, but at least one big act cancelled a tour because too few tickets sold.
The Pattern
We looked at big stadium tours since 2016 by famous acts coming back or saying goodbye. Most sold out quickly, and the organisers added shows within weeks. One recent tour went the other way, because it booked venues that were too big for the demand.

The Read
History points to more shows. G-Dragon’s solo arena tour in 2025 sold out across Asia, and the Coachella hint brought a clear rise in streams of the group’s old songs. Oasis and BTS show that a long absence and scarce tickets turn into sellouts on the first day. Organisers often keep second dates in big cities in reserve, so they can add them later as shows for extra demand. A nine-year gap and a 20th anniversary are a strong setup for that.
The doubt is the size of the venues. BIGBANG has never been the main act in Western stadiums, and its past shows in the US and Europe were in arenas. The group is now a trio, and its core fans are ten years older. The Black Keys cancelled in 2024 when the tour outran demand. If the Oakland and East Rutherford shows sell slowly, organisers will wait and add nothing, and from the outside that looks the same as no new dates.
The record is also thin. The Black Keys played arenas, and BTS in 2019 was not a comeback or a farewell, so only three of the five cases fit closely. New dates in any region before would settle the question.
