Resolved: NO

The Court of Arbitration for Sport said on 19 October 2026 that its award in Senegal's appeal is expected at the end of November 2026, and its media releases show no ruling by 22 October, as Al Jazeera also reported.

Resolved 22 Oct 2026
Why these numbers

History. No count: the hearing date is known in only one of six appeals. Signal points are counted from 50.

Hunch. On 8 October CAS chief Matthieu Reeb said the ruling would come a few days later, after a timetable agreed with both sides.

How this resolves

Resolves YES if by 22 October 2026 CAS publishes its ruling in Senegal's appeal, even without written reasons, and NO if no ruling is out by then. The CAS media releases at tas-cas.org settle it, with BBC Sport and Al Jazeera as the backup.

The pattern behind it

1 of 6
One of six times the sports court gave a team back what it won on the pitch. Five times the penalty stayed, including every 0-3 defeat given for an ineligible player.

We looked for cases where a club or national team asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport to undo a penalty that took away something it won on the pitch. We found six such appeals since 2013. The court gave back the result once, to Manchester City in 2020, over a ban for breaking money rules. Every 0-3 defeat given for an ineligible player stayed.
