Airbus's nine-month results release of 28 October 2026 says its 2026 guidance is unchanged and still targets around 870 commercial aircraft deliveries, and Reuters reported the same day that Airbus stuck to its target of about 870, so there was no cut by 28 October.
History. 2 of 4. Boeing in August 2023 and Airbus in December 2025 cut. Airbus in 2018 and Boeing in April 2023 did not.
Hunch. Airbus repeated its target on 25 September, the day it confirmed the fault, which neither maker did in the two cases where the target was cut.
The cut market resolves on Airbus's own releases: YES if between 26 September and 28 October 2026 Airbus gives a 2026 delivery target below about 870 or withdraws it. A nine-month results release on 28 October that repeats about 870 resolves NO. Reuters reports of an Airbus statement are the backup.
We looked for cases where an aircraft maker with a public yearly delivery target said a fault in its jets could delay deliveries, while the target still stood and a results report was ahead. We found four since 2018. The target was cut twice, and both cuts came at or before the next results. Both cuts were small, under 10%. The first target for the year was met in one of three years.
