Resolved: NO

The 2026 World Series ended in five games when the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 on 28 October 2026, so no seventh game was played, according to the official MLB schedule and results, confirmed by ESPN and The Guardian.

Why these numbers

History. 2 of 6: the finals of 1971 and 2014 went to a Game 7.

Hunch. The gap in strength between Milwaukee and either rival makes a long final a little less likely than it was in those six.

How this resolves

The Game 7 market resolves on the official MLB bracket and schedule when the World Series ends, at the latest on 1 November 2026: YES if a seventh game begins, NO if the series ends in four, five or six games. ESPN and The Guardian are the backup.

The pattern behind it

2 of 6
Two of six teams that won their semi-final without a loss, then rested and started the final at home, won the title: Cincinnati in 1976 and Atlanta in 1995. Four lost.

We looked for cases where a baseball team won its semi-final without losing a game, finished it before its rival, and then started the World Series at home. We found six such teams from 1969 to 2025. Each rested four to seven days before Game 1. Milwaukee will have rested eight. (Major League Baseball; Major League Baseball)
