Andy Burnham met Donald Trump at the UN General Assembly on 22 September 2026. The Prime Minister's Office published only a UK readout of the meeting, and neither GOV.UK nor the White House published a joint UK-US statement.
Hunch. Trump signed trade papers with Keir Starmer on the edge of the G7 in June 2025, which argues for a signed text, but no agreement has been announced for New York and he has just contradicted Burnham on Irish unification, so the two pulls cancel out.
Resolves YES if GOV.UK (Prime Minister's Office news) or whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements publishes, dated the day of the first in-person meeting between Andy Burnham and Donald Trump, a document for the UK and US alone called a joint statement, declaration, partnership or agreement, and NO if they meet without one; readouts, remarks and statements with other countries do not count. If neither GOV.UK, whitehouse.gov nor two of BBC News, the Guardian and Reuters report a meeting between the two by 28 September 2026, the market is VOID.
Six first meetings since 2010, one joint statement on the day. We looked at every UK prime minister since 2010 whose first face-to-face talks with a sitting US president took place at or around a summit of world leaders. We checked whether the two countries alone published a joint statement or a named partnership within 31 days. Joe Biden is the president in three of the six. The one Trump case is from his first term, with a different team.
