Resolved: NO

Billboard's Hot 100 dated 10 October 2026, reported on 5 October, has Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' at No. 1 and 'Choosin' Texas' down to No. 2 after 24 weeks on top, so it did not reach 25; Variety reported the same on 5 October.

How this resolves

The market resolves on Billboard's Hot 100 charts dated 12 September to 10 October 2026 inclusive, the last published Tuesday 6 October 2026; resolves YES only if 'Choosin' Texas' is at No. 1 on all five, any week away from No. 1 resolves NO. If that source has not published in time, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter settle it.

The pattern behind it

7 of 8
Seven of the last eight songs to spend 14 or more weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 stopped short of 20 weeks. Across all 14 before this one, 13 did: seven at 14, 'As It Was' at 15, 'One Sweet Day', 'Despacito' and 'Last Night' at 16, 'Old Town Road' and 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' at 19. The exception, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You', reached 22 across seven Decembers. 'Choosin' Texas' is at 20 in one run, which no song had done.

Thirteen of the 14 longest runs before it stopped short of 20 weeks. We looked at every song that spent 14 weeks or more at No. 1 on the Hot 100, using Billboard's own records of where each run ended. The one song that went further is a Christmas song that adds its weeks each December.
