Why these numbers

Hunch. The board voted seven to none at its last two meetings, in August and September, and none of the eight earlier times came after a vote like that.

How this resolves

The unanimous vote market resolves on the Czech National Bank statement of 5 November 2026, published at 15:00 Prague time on the Bank Board decisions page: YES if it says all members voted for the decision, whatever the decision is, and NO if at least one member voted for a different rate. If that page does not open, Reuters and Financial Times reports of the same decision settle it together.

The pattern behind it

3 of 8
Three of eight times a board member backed a rise before a meeting, the board raised the rate, and five times it kept it. In all eight votes at least one member was on the losing side.

We looked for cases where a voting member of the Czech central bank’s board said in public, between two meetings, that he would back a rate change at the next one. We found eight such times from 2022 to 2023, before six meetings. All eight times the member backed a rise.
