Resolved: YES

The BBC Sport match card for Pakistan v England at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on 25 October 2026 shows Pakistan 243 for 9 beating England 241 all out, a win by one wicket, and The Guardian reports the same.

Why these numbers

Hunch. England have won three one-day series in a row this year, so Pakistan's home edge is smaller than usual.

How this resolves

The Lahore match market resolves on the BBC Sport match card: YES if Pakistan beat England in Lahore on 25 October 2026 by the official result, Duckworth-Lewis included, and NO if England win. A match with no result, a tie without a super over, or a match moved past 31 October is VOID, and icc-cricket.com and The Guardian are the backups.

The pattern behind it

5 of 9
In five of nine three-team one-day series hosted by a team that had won its last two home series, the host won most of its group games against the visitors, and four times it did not. Editorial scoring note: Ten series are displayed; group results are complete for nine and the host won a majority in five. Sri Lanka 2005 is excluded only from that group-results denominator, not from series wins (5/10) or final appearances (7/10). Five series had Australia as host. The group statistic is not a probability for one Pakistan match.

We looked for cases where a country hosted a men's three-team one-day series with a final, after winning its last two one-day series at home. We found ten such series from 2003 to 2015. Australia was the host in five of them. In five of the nine where all group results are known, the host won most of its group games against the two visitors, and all five times it was Australia.
