Why these numbers

Hunch. The EBU gave Spain and Slovenia extra time on 28 October, but when Iceland faced a December deadline last year, it decided a few hours before it.

How this resolves

Resolves YES if by 31 December 2026 the European Broadcasting Union publicly names a new deadline later than December 2026 for RTVE or RTV Slovenija to decide on Eurovision 2027, and NO if there is no such statement. If the EBU pages do not open, BBC and Guardian reports decide.

The pattern behind it

4 of 7
Four of seven times a country boycotted Eurovision, it took part in the next contest, and three times it stayed away. The three that stayed away all left in 2026 over Israel taking part.

We looked for cases where a country stayed away from Eurovision in protest at another country, the host or the organisers, and then had to decide about the next contest. We found seven such times since 1975.
