Why these numbers

History. Stand-in named: all three makers that cut off the seller did it on the day sales stopped, while Ledger paused on 9 October; both makers that paused (NeoLife, Opatra London) had not decided in the time covered. Kept 3 of 5 from all cases by Pavlo's word of 13 Oct.

Hunch. Ledger paused CryptoBilis on 9 October until its investigation ends, and on 12 October its seller list still said sales are temporarily paused.

How this resolves

The seller market resolves on Ledger's list of sellers and its Ongoing Issues page: YES if by 11:59pm Paris time on 9 November Ledger says it has ended work with CryptoBilis or removes it from the list as ended, and NO if it is still paused or selling again. Ledger's blog is the backup, as no news outlet on our list has reported the story.

The pattern behind it

3 of 5
Three of five makers that stopped sales through a seller after buyers were harmed cut it off on the same day. The other two paused the seller and had not decided after 13 and 94 days.

We looked for cases where a maker itself stopped selling its product through one of its sellers, because buyers who used that seller were harmed. We found five such makers from 2021 to 2026, in four countries and five different businesses. None of them made crypto devices.
