Hunch. In the one past UK food deal where the CMA found a competition problem, it ruled on the last day.
The timing market resolves YES if the CMA announces its first-check decision in any form by the end of 10 November 2026, as dated on the CMA case page or in the CMA news story. A decision on 11 November, a longer deadline or no decision counts as NO, with Reuters and BBC Business as backup.
We looked for cases where the CMA checked a planned food deal in which a company bought part of another firm's business, both sold the same kind of product, and the deal was not yet done. We found eight since 2018. In six of them the CMA said yes at its first check with no conditions, each time before the deadline.
