The ICO news and statements page lists no item from 11 September to 13 October 2026 on GP data in the NHS Federated Data Platform.
(adjacent). The market resolves on ico.org.uk, whose news and statements page publishes on the day: YES if an item dated 13 September to 13 October 2026 records an inquiry, investigation, enforcement step or formal statement that names GP data or general practice data in the NHS Federated Data Platform; a decision notice on a freedom of information request, a generic health-data blog or a statement that names only supplier access does not count. If ico.org.uk has not published, BBC and the Guardian settle it, and silence on all three by 23:59 BST on 13 October resolves NO.
Both earlier cases about GP records drew a fast challenge. We looked for times since 2014 when an NHS body in England widened the patient data stored on, or open to, a central or contractor-run platform, and the public found out from the press or a low-key document instead of an announcement. We found six. For each we asked whether the ICO (the data watchdog), the BMA (the doctors' body) or the Commons Health and Social Care Committee opened an inquiry or made a written challenge within 30 days.
