How this resolves

The overall market resolves YES if the official final general classification published on lavuelta.es shows Pogacar as winner of the 81st Vuelta a España after the final stage in Granada, by 23:59 CEST on 13 September 2026. Abandonment or disqualification before the finish resolves NO.

The pattern behind it

1 of 3
Since the Vuelta moved to the end of the calendar in 1995, three reigning Tour de France champions have ridden it in the same year: Froome in 2016, Froome in 2017, Vingegaard in 2023. One converted the double; all three stood on the final podium. Pogacar arrives with a bigger Tour margin than any of them — and a seven-year absence from the race he now starts as favourite.

Since 1995 only one Tour winner has also won the Vuelta that year. That was when the Vuelta moved from spring to the end of the season, and the calendar has decided how hard the double is ever since. Three riders have ever won both races in the same year. Below are all three, plus the two Tour winners since 1995 who tried and fell short.
