No arrest at a Portsmouth protest on 19 or 20 September 2026 was reported by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, BBC News or the Guardian by 21 September. The charge reported by the BBC on 21 September relates to the 6 September protest.
The market resolves on Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary statements at hampshire.police.uk, published on the day: YES if the force reports at least one arrest at an anti-immigration protest or its counter-protest in Portsmouth on 19 or 20 September 2026; a protest with no arrest, or arrests made on those days for the 6 or 12 September events alone, resolves NO. If the force has not published, BBC News and the Guardian settle it, and silence on all three by 23:59 BST on 21 September resolves NO.
We looked for anti-immigration protests in Britain since 2023 where the same town saw protests on two weekends in a row, and the first weekend had arrests or disorder reported by police. Then we checked news reports of the weekend after, looking for a protest in the same place with arrests or disorder. We found three such cases, one fewer than the four our method asks for, so the record is thin.
