History. 5 of 7: the favourite let in no goals five times; Celtic conceded in 1994 and 2021.
Hunch. Hibernian scored twice against Hearts in the semi-final on 1 November, while Rangers have let in two goals in two of their last five league games.
The clean sheet market resolves on the goals in the SPFL or BBC Sport match report: YES if Hibernian score no goal against Rangers in 90 minutes, added time and any extra time, and NO if they score at least once. An own goal by a Rangers player counts for Hibernian, and penalty shoot-out kicks do not count.
We looked for cases where Rangers or Celtic played a club from outside the two in the Scottish League Cup final, with a manager who had not yet won a trophy at the club and a team that were not champions the season before. We found seven such finals from 1994 to 2023. Rangers or Celtic won six of them, all inside 90 minutes. The one loss was Celtic against Raith Rovers in 1994, on penalties. (BBC Sport; The Guardian)
