Resolved: YES

Canada beat England 31-22 in Ottawa on 23 October 2026, as Rugby Canada's match report and BBC Sport and The Guardian report.

Why these numbers

Hunch. England had gone 41 games without a defeat before Toronto, and in the five men's Tests we checked, no side whose long unbeaten run had just ended lost the rematch as well.

How this resolves

The Ottawa market resolves on the match report on rugby.ca or englandrugby.com: YES if Canada beat England in Ottawa on 23 October 2026 local time, and NO if England win or the match ends in a draw. If the match is cancelled or moved later than 31 October the market is VOID, and BBC Sport and The Guardian settle it if the official pages are silent.

The pattern behind it

4 of 4
In all four women's rugby series since 2012 where a team lost a Test and played the same side away within a week, the side that won first won the rematch too.

We looked for cases where a women's national rugby union team lost a Test match and played the same team again within a week, in the same series and again at the other team's home. We found four such matches from 2012 to 2021. Each time the team that had just won the first match won the next one too. The team that lost never got its revenge, even though three times it was the world champion.
