How this resolves

The market resolves on the final scoreboard on solheimcup.com, published at the close of the Sunday singles on 13 September. It resolves YES if Europe has more points than the United States; a 14-14 tie resolves NO whichever side retains the cup. If that source has not published in time, Sky Sports and BBC Sport final reports settle it.

The pattern behind it

4 of 8
Four of the last eight Solheim Cups were won outright by the home team: 2011, 2017, 2019 and 2024. The away team won in 2013, 2015 and 2021, and 2023 was tied 14-14 with Europe retaining as holders. Home advantage in this event is no better than a coin toss, and the United States have won three of the last four meetings decided outright. That is the full record used; Europe hosts at Bernardus from 11 to 13 September.

The home team won four of the last eight Solheim Cups. It lost three, and one was a tie. We looked at every Cup from 2011 to 2024, using Sky Sports' report of each, and noted where it was played and whether the home team won.
