Hunch. This year the Christmas chart already counts the days up to Christmas Eve, so the next chart counts only the quieter days after Christmas, which leaves less room to climb.
The after-Christmas market counts only if Step Into Christmas (Amazon Music Original) is in the top 100 of the 25 December chart but not number one, and is void otherwise: YES if it is higher on the Official Singles Chart dated 1 January 2027, NO if it is at the same place, lower or out of the top 100. We looked for cases where a music streaming service put out a Christmas song of its own that was not on rival streaming apps, before the UK Christmas chart. We found eight Christmases from 2018 to 2025, all of them Amazon Music. Its song was number one once, in 2025. In the other seven years it reached between number 2 and number 56.
