Resolved: YES

The Senedd approved the motion on the Welsh government's Second Supplementary Budget 2026-27 on 3 November 2026 by 54 votes to 39, as BBC News, WalesOnline and Deeside.com (off-list) report; the Senedd Record for that day is not yet published.

Why these numbers

Hunch. The BBC reported on 13 October that if Labour abstains the budget needs the Greens and Jane Dodds, and neither has said how they will vote.

How this resolves

Resolves YES if the Senedd Record of Proceedings for 3 November shows the motion to approve the Second Supplementary Budget 2026-27 as agreed, and NO if it is rejected. The market is void if the vote does not take place on 3 November, and BBC News Wales and WalesOnline settle it if the record is not yet published.

The pattern behind it

5 of 10
Five of ten times a party with a budget deal said it would abstain in the vote. The budget passed all ten times, once in 2025 by one vote, 29 to 28.

We looked for cases where the Welsh government made a deal with a party outside government before a budget vote in the Senedd. We checked votes from 2016 to 2026. We found ten such votes, under five deals. All ten budgets passed. In five votes, the partner party said it would abstain.
