On 12 October 2026 the Prime Minister's Office said on gov.uk that the Prime Minister will meet António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels on 20 November 2026 for the second UK-EU summit, and BBC News reported the same day.
The market resolves on gov.uk (Prime Minister's Office and Cabinet Office news) and on the European Commission press corner at ec.europa.eu, with consilium.europa.eu press releases as an equal primary source: YES if a statement dated 13 September to 14 October 2026 gives a specific calendar day for the second EU-UK summit or for a dated EU-UK negotiating round on the SPS agreement; 'late November', 'autumn' or 'before the end of the year' without a day resolves NO, as of 13 September no date exists on any of the three pages. If none has published, Politico Europe and the Guardian settle it, and silence on all by 23:59 BST on 14 October resolves NO.
We found six public delays of EU talks since 2020. We looked for every reported delay of a planned EU-UK round of talks or summit, and added the EU's talks with Switzerland, a similar partner. For each one we asked whether either side named a day for the next meeting within 31 days. A month or a season without a day does not count.
