Resolved: NO

By 30 September 2026 neither Frasers' RNS feed nor Hugo Boss voting-rights notices disclosed a stake above 50%; the last stated holding was 47.89% (Frasers update of 1 September), and the 14 September notices covered only board changes.

How this resolves

The market resolves on voting-rights notifications and press releases published by Hugo Boss AG on group.hugoboss.com, or a Frasers Group RNS on londonstockexchange.com. It resolves YES if either states a Frasers shareholding in Hugo Boss above 50% by 23:59 CET on 30 September 2026. If that source has not published in time, BaFin's voting-rights database and The Guardian settle it.

The pattern behind it

3 of 5
Three of the last five Frasers stake-building campaigns since 2019 ended with Frasers owning the company: Game Digital, Studio Retail and MySale. The two failures, Mulberry and boohoo, each collided with a shareholder bloc Frasers could not out-vote, a founder-aligned holder with about 56% in one case and a general meeting in the other. Hugo Boss has no majority blocker, its chair is talking constructively, and Frasers already holds 47.9% with the freedom to keep buying. The full record is the same five campaigns, 2019 to 2024.

Frasers ended up owning the company in three of five campaigns. We looked at every campaign since 2019 in which Frasers built up a stake in a listed retailer and pushed it to an end. Price never decided the outcome. What mattered was whether a large group of shareholders stood in the way.
