How this resolves

The market resolves on Hugo Boss AG on group.hugoboss.com, by press release, EGM invitation or announcement naming a Frasers Group nominee for, or appointee to, its supervisory board, or Frasers announcing the same by RNS on londonstockexchange.com, by 23:59 CET on 31 October 2026. If that source has not published in time, The Guardian and BBC News settle it.

The pattern behind it

3 of 5
Three of the last five Frasers stake-building campaigns since 2019 ended with Frasers owning the company: Game Digital, Studio Retail and MySale. The two failures, Mulberry and boohoo, each collided with a shareholder bloc Frasers could not out-vote, a founder-aligned holder with about 56% in one case and a general meeting in the other. Hugo Boss has no majority blocker, its chair is talking constructively, and Frasers already holds 47.9% with the freedom to keep buying. The full record is the same five campaigns, 2019 to 2024.

Frasers ended up owning the company in three of five campaigns. We looked at every campaign since 2019 in which Frasers built up a stake in a listed retailer and pushed it to an end. Price never decided the outcome. What mattered was whether a large group of shareholders stood in the way.
