Resolved: YES

FEC independent expenditure data show the Senate Leadership Fund (C00571703) filed a 48-hour report on 5 October 2026 for ads opposing Adam Hamilton disseminated on 3 October, followed by many more Kansas reports through 1 November.

Why these numbers

History. No count from the cases: late money was the entry rule for every case, so the cases cannot say whether it comes. This question comes from the fund's motive to protect a 53 to 47 majority. The checker compares Hunch with the page base of 7 of 8.

Hunch. So far the move rests on reports from people close to the fund, and a fund can also spend through a separate allied group, which would not count here.

How this resolves

Resolves on the Federal Election Commission's independent expenditure reports for the Senate Leadership Fund, checked on 4 November 2026: YES if at least one 24- or 48-hour report shows spending disseminated from 2 October to 3 November 2026 to support Roger Marshall or oppose Adam Hamilton. Spending only by Marshall's campaign, the Republican Senate committee or other groups, including groups the fund pays, resolves NO. A confirmed Senate Leadership Fund ad buy in Kansas reported by Reuters or The Guardian counts if the FEC pages are not yet updated.

The pattern behind it

7 of 8
In 7 of 8 cases the party kept the seat. The one loss, Alabama 2017, came after the fund had first dropped its candidate and then returned to him.

We looked for cases where a party's main Senate fund put new money into a seat the party had kept for years, six weeks or less before the vote, while the Senate majority could change hands on six seats or fewer. We found eight since 2006, from both parties. Three of the eight decisions came from one fund, the Senate Leadership Fund, which is the fund moving money to Kansas now.
