Resolved: NO

No club other than Manchester United announced signing JJ Gabriel by 23:59 on 16 October 2026: BBC Sport on 9 October said his future was still undecided while he trained privately in Spain, BBC Sport's gossip on 16 October still reported Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG competing for him, and Sky Sports on 6 October said he remains registered with United.

How this resolves

The market resolves on the new club's official website (Tier A for its own signings), which announces youth registrations on the day they are ratified, confirmed by BBC Sport or Sky Sports: YES if an announcement that JJ Gabriel has signed for or been registered with a club other than Manchester United is published by 23:59 BST on 16 October 2026; a reported agreement, a medical or a Premier League hearing without a registration resolves NO. If the club site is silent, two of BBC Sport, Sky Sports and the Independent settle it, and silence on all by the deadline resolves NO.

The pattern behind it

4 of 7
Four of the seven forced academy exits since 2003 ended with a new registration within 31 days: Elliott, Musiala, Pique and Fabregas, all done with the news or within three weeks. Sancho, Ngumoha and Obi-Martin took 42 to 78 days.

We found seven young players who forced their way out. All were aged 15 to 17 at top academies in England or Spain since 2003, and left against their club's wishes by refusing a deal, sending a notice or walking out of a youth deal. We counted the days until a new club registered them. Four were at a new club within a month of the first news. The three English cases since 2017 took six to eleven weeks.
