How this resolves

The judicial review market resolves YES only if the High Court hands down a judgment allowing Meta's claim against Ofcom's Online Safety Act fee and penalty methodology on or before 7 August 2026, per Find Case Law and Administrative Court records; procedural orders do not count.

The pattern behind it

1 of 4
1 of 4 prominent legal challenges by tech companies against UK regulators since 2020 ended in an outright company win. The sample is small, and the one case the company did win was against a licensing decision rather than a regulator's substantive finding, but the procedural deck favours the regulator.

In four big fights since 2020, the company won outright once. A judicial review is narrow: judges check whether a regulator acted lawfully and followed a fair process, not whether its policy is wise. We looked at recent legal challenges by tech companies against UK regulators to see how often the company won.
