How this resolves

The next-stage market resolves YES only on a formal notice: a contract or procurement notice on the UK Find a Tender service naming HomeTest or home diagnostic testing via the NHS App, or an NHS England announcement of a funded pilot, by 10 August 2026.

The pattern behind it

2 of 4
Of four flagship NHS digital initiatives since 2002, two delivered at national scale (the NHS App and the Covid Pass) and two either failed outright (NPfIT) or remain unproven pledges (the 10 Year Plan's outpatient shift). The split is honest: HomeTest's app-first design puts it on the better side of the pattern, but its national procurement puts it on the worse one.

Features added to the NHS App tend to work. Large projects bought centrally for the whole NHS tend to struggle. We looked at the biggest NHS digital projects and found a split record. The same organisation ran the largest civilian IT failure in UK history and also built one of its fastest-adopted digital products.
