By 13 October 2026 neither BBC News nor the Independent reported any letter or meeting between DUP leader Gavin Robinson and US officials about Trump's united Ireland remarks; on 14 September he dismissed them as a dead cat strategy, and the DUP site mydup.com could not be read.
(adjacent). Resolves YES if, by 23:59 BST on 13 October 2026, the DUP leader is reported to have sent a letter to, or held a meeting with, the President, the Secretary of State, the US Ambassador to the UK or to Ireland, the US Consul General in Belfast or a US special envoy, and the letter or meeting is described as concerning Trump's united Ireland remarks. Primary source is a DUP statement on mydup.com, which blocks automated fetching, so BBC News and the Independent settle it as fallbacks; social media posts and unnamed briefings do not count, and silence resolves NO.
All four replies came when the UK leader was in the room. We looked for public comments since 1998 on Northern Ireland's border, its peace settlement or whether it stays in the UK, made by a US president, a candidate for president, the Speaker of the US Congress or the leader of a visiting group from Congress. We found eleven and show the last eight. For each we checked whether the Prime Minister or the Northern Ireland Secretary answered in their own name within seven days, in Parliament, in a government statement or on the record to reporters. A spokesperson's words do not count.
